SkillUP Training Scholarships
Do you need training for a new career path, but cannot afford to pay for tuition? If you are receiving food stamp benefits, SkillUP can help.
SkillUP offers scholarships for short-term training programs in Missouri.
St. Louis Community College staff will help you select education and training that fits your needs and your schedule.
After completing your training, SkillUP will help you find employment.
To find out if you qualify for childcare, go to mydss.mo.gov. If you qualify and apply, you can receive a childcare subsidy while participating in SkillUP.
The SkillUP program offers SNAP recipients in Missouri the opportunity to gain skills, training or work experience. The SkillUP Program is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS).
SkillUP is offered at no cost to the participant and helps promote employability and self-sufficiency.

SkillUP offers a variety of services to participants based on an Individual Employment Plan which is created between the participant and SkillUP staff. These services include:
- Staff Assisted Job Search
- Job Search Training
- Work-Based Learning
- Vocational Training
- Supportive Services
