About the Meramec Theatre
At Meramec Theatre, learning happens both in the classroom and on the stage. Students gain hands-on experience in acting, design, technical theatre and production while working alongside faculty and experienced theatre professionals. Every audition, rehearsal, design meeting and performance helps students build real-world skills and confidence. As a community theatre, Meramec Theatre welcomes students and local performers to audition, creating opportunities to learn, collaborate and share the excitement of live theatre with our audiences.

SYNOPSIS: The play imagines Emily Dickinson arriving in heaven and meeting Shakespeare and Sappho. Instead of a peaceful afterlife, heaven becomes a literary gathering where three writers debate poetry, immortality, fame, love, and artistic expression.

SYNOPSIS: A short dark comedy set in a small-town gun shop. The play follows Wayne, the enthusiastic owner of the store, whose ordinary workday is interrupted when an unusual customer (Jesus) comes in asking about buying a gun. What begins as an absurd encounter gradually becomes a thoughtful and ironic exploration of faith and human behavior.

Produced by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals, Inc.SYNOPSIS: In 2008 in Reading, PA, one of the poorest cities in America, a group of down-and-out factory workers struggle to keep their present lives in balance, ignorant of the financial devastation looming in their near future. The powerful crux of this new play is knowing the fate of the characters long before it’s even in their sights. Based on Nottage’s extensive research and interviews with real residents of Reading, Sweat is a topical reflection of the present and the poignant outcome of America’s economic decline.

Theatre Policies
- All theatrical productions at STLCC are offered free of charge.
- In-person seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Photography and digital recordings are strictly prohibited for all STLCC theatre productions.
- Food and drink are not allowed within the theatre auditorium.
- No children under 10 years old, unless it's specifically marked as a children's production.
- We request that patrons turn off cellular phones during the performance as a courtesy to our performers and your fellow patrons.
- St. Louis Community College is tobacco free. Use of tobacco products is prohibited on all college property.
