NCCU Oratorical Contest Winners Honored

Winners of the NCCU Oratorical Contest

Winners of the annual North County Churches Uniting for Racial Harmony and Justice Oratorical Contest were honored Jan. 22 during the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at St. Louis Community College-Florissant Valley.

The event featured several speakers and choir performances, as well as a 60-foot by 120-foot birthday card for Dr. King that was signed by celebration attendees. The Ritenour School District also received the Dr. Rance Thomas Excellence in Community Partnership Award.

The keynote speaker was Shawntelle Fisher, STLCC-Florissant Valley alumna, who also is founder/CEO of The SoulFisher Ministries.
