STLCC-Florissant Valley Hosts Portfolio DayPage Title
The art department at St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley hosted its
23rd annual Portfolio Day Oct. 29.
Nineteen art schools from across the country visited the campus to recruit Florissant
Valley students and gave presentations. Participating upper-level students showcased
their work in exhibit areas throughout the Humanities building.
“Our program is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design,
so we are able to draw representatives from prestigious art schools from across the
country who come specifically to recruit our students,” said Julia Jenner, associate
professor of graphic communications. “Portfolio Day is a great opportunity for our
general fine art, graphic design and photography students to showcase their work,
learn about transfer programs and various careers that are available in the arts.”
Participating institutions included the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising,
Fontbonne University, Kansas City Art Institute, Kendall College of Art and Design,
Maine College of Art, Maryland Institute College of Art, Milwaukee Institute of Art
