Established in 1962, St. Louis Community College has served more than 1.3 million students; at least one person in more than one-half of the households in the St. Louis area has attended STLCC. Today, STLCC offers associate degrees, certificates, college transfer degrees, career development and workforce training.

Economic Impact
Preparing individuals for the workforce is just one way that St. Louis Community College makes an impact in the community and on the economy.
- Research shows that for every $1 invested in their STLCC education, students receive a return on that investment of $4.70 in higher future income over their working careers. Taxpayers gain $2.80 in added tax revenue and public sector savings. Society gains $10.80 in added state revenue and social savings.
- From a taxpayer perspective, every $1 of state or local tax money invested in STLCC returns $2.80 in benefits.
- STLCC’s annual impact on St. Louis is $2.5 billion with 32,371 jobs supported. One out of every 34 jobs in the St. Louis area is supported by the activities of STLCC and its students.
- STLCC contributes $145.3 million in operations spending, $3.7 million in construction spending, $33.4 million in student spending and $2.3 million in alumni impact.
