Attendance Policy

All Classes

Per the Academic Catalog, students who are officially listed on a class roster are expected to attend classes. Excessive absences, as determined by the instructor, may result in a failing grade. Attendance requirements should be outlined during the first class meeting. For additional information, please refer to the Attendance and Withdrawal section of our Academic Catalog. Please note that only students who have been classified as absent-only will be dropped for non-attendance.

Online Classes

To demonstrate attendance in online classes, students must complete and submit homework assignments, take quizzes and tests, participate in the discussion board by contributing original and valuable comments, submit writing assignments, and/or email the instructor with course-related questions or comments. Simply logging into Canvas does not constitute attendance. Please refer to the Attendance Policy and Procedures for additional information.

Live Virtual Lecture Classes

Courses that are taught online via Live Virtual Lecture have listed course sessions for which students are expected to attend. Failure to attend the Live Virtual Lecture of a course constitutes an absence.

College Closure Due to Inclement Weather

When STLCC closes campuses due to inclement weather, all classes will be canceled - including asynchronous online classes and live virtual lecture classes.
