Attendance Policy

All Classes

Per the Academic Catalog, students who are officially listed on a class roster are expected to attend classes. Excessive absences, as determined by the instructor, may result in a failing grade. Attendance requirements should be outlined during the first class meeting. For additional information, please refer to the Attendance and Withdrawal section of our Academic Catalog. Please note that only students who have been classified as absent-only will be dropped for non-attendance.

Online Classes

To demonstrate attendance in online classes, students must complete and submit homework assignments, take quizzes and tests, participate in the discussion board by contributing original and valuable comments, submit writing assignments, and/or email the instructor with course-related questions or comments. Simply logging into Blackboard does not constitute attendance. Please refer to the Attendance Policy and Procedures for additional information.

The Drop for Non-Attendance process drops students who are classified as absent-only.

The Registered, Not Attending (RN) process classifies students as RN when they've attended once and have stopped attending. Students are notified via email and prompted to seek reinstatement with their instructor or withdraw from the course at Admissions/Enrollment Services.
