STLCC-Meramec Theatre Presents “Arsenic and Old Lace”

September 18, 2013

The Theatre department at St. Louis Community College-Meramec presents the timeless comedy “Arsenic and Old Lace” by Joseph Kesselring Oct. 2-5 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 6 at 2 p.m. in the Meramec Theatre on campus, 11333 Big Bend Road in Kirkwood.

The play is directed by Keith Oliver and designed by Darren Thompson.

Written over eight decades ago, the play centers around Mortimer Brewster, a mild-mannered drama critic who discovers the shocking truth about his two elderly aunts. The seemingly harmless old ladies have the most disagreeable habit of poisoning their gentlemen callers and burying them in the cellar. Throw in an older brother that believes he is Teddy Roosevelt and a murderous brother on the run from the law recovering from plastic surgery, and you have the recipe for a laugh a minute.

The Meramec Theatre no longer takes reservations.  Admission is free, and seating is open and on a first-come basis.
