Mission Statement of Instructional Resources
Instructional Resources supports the mission of the College to create accessible learning environments by providing quality services and collections that facilitate academic achievement by our diverse communities.
|Content||Select, acquire, organize, and manage collections in all formats that ensure availability of resources for teaching and learning, supporting the full range of the College’s programs and activities.|
|Access||Provide the best possible access to information resources both on and off campus. Employ technology that is integrated into all aspects of library and media services, collections, and operations.|
|Service||Provide instructional and information services that meet the current and changing information needs of a diverse community.|
|People||Recruit, hire, and retain a knowledgeable, professional, service-oriented staff.|
|Place||Provide a virtual and physical environment that is welcoming and conducive to individual needs and learning styles.|
The library collection includes print, non-print and electronic materials. These materials support classes, research and general interest reading and viewing/listening. Materials can be located by keyword, subject, author, title, or other search strategies by using the STLCC Libraries online catalog. The Libraries follow detailed collection development guidelines when acquiring materials.
