Meet the Chef – David Burke

2018 will mark the 10th year for the STLCC Foundation’s signature fundraiser ‘Falling in Love…in Five Courses’. In 2017, 30 St. Louis area corporations participated in this event, with 280 St. Louisans in attendance.  Proceeds from this event provide scholarships for deserving students who do not have the funds to attend community college.

This exclusive culinary adventure will be prepared by Chef David Burke, who will bring his unique style and flair to the Four Seasons St. Louis venue. Chef David Burke is one of the leading pioneers in American cooking today.  In 1992, Burke opened the critically acclaimed Park Avenue Café. In 2003, Burke branched out on his own to start his first ever proprietary and highly praised restaurant, davidburke & donatella. Currently, Burke is in the process of creating a new David Burke brand of restaurants under the ESquared umbrella. Burk has been honored with Japan’s Nippon Award of Excellence, the Robert Mondavi Award of Excellence and the CIA’s August Escoffier Award. Nation’s Restaurant News named Burke one of the 50 Top R&D Culinarians.

Over the years, Chef Burke has become one of the most recognized chefs on television, including appearances on two seasons of Top Chef Masters, a guest spot on the Every Day with Rachel Ray show and NBC’s Today show.

Joining Chef Burke will be: Chef Gian Nicola Colucci, Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis; Executive Pastry Chef Casey Shiller, St. Louis Community College-Forest Park (2011 and 2013 winner of the Food Network’s Cupcake Wars); and students from STLCC’s highly acclaimed culinary arts program at the Forest Park campus.
