PHLEBOTOMY

This training program prepares the student for entry level employment as a phlebotomist. The course provides classroom, lab instruction and clinical experience. The 120 hours of clinical experience is in addition to scheduled class time. Course content includes basic anatomy pertinent to blood collection, as well as communication skills, specimen processing, related interdisciplinary tasks, lab experience of blood drawing techniques and practical experience of blood drawing techniques in the clinical setting. A strict attendance policy is enforced throughout this training.

DEVELOPING AND USING EFFECTIVE SUPERVISOR SKILLS

Being an effective supervisor requires you to know the people you manage and to use good management skills, techniques, and methods. Learn the skills and tools to apply in managing, motivating, counseling, using constructive correction, resolving and solving problems, decision-making and many other vital skills to manage others.

FINDING JOB LEADS

Is your family tired of the same old side dishes? If you are looking for ways to jazz up vegetables, try out some new recipes that will re-kindle your interest and put some excitement on your plates. You will make roasted asparagus with feta, basil pecan green beans, saucy brussels sprouts, glazed carrots and parsnips, lemon sugar snap peas, and much more.

TERRARIUMS: CRAFT A GARDEN UNDER GLASS

Terrariums are a beautiful, low-maintenance way to add some living greenery to your home. In this workshop, you will create your very own "toadstool" terrarium while learning about appropriate plant species, props, soil requirements, and care instructions. Class can be messy - dress appropriately. Fee includes most materials. Student needs to bring large, clear glass jar they wish to use for their terrarium structure. Jar can be any shape but needs to include a lid and be label free.
