Overview of Transfer Information

Students must request official transcripts of previously earned college credit be sent directly to the Registrar's office (300 S. Broadway, St. Louis, MO 63102). Electronic transcripts sent through approved secure vendors such as Parchment, National Student Clearinghouse, or E-Scripts, may be sent directly to: csr@stlcc.edu. Hand-carried or faxed copies will not be accepted as official documents. 

Please note that ALL degree-seeking students must have their official transcript sent to STLCC.

Students may contact an advisor for general questions regarding transferring to STLCC.

How Will My Credits Transfer to STLCC?

Transcripts received from other colleges and universities for degree-seeking students are required to undergo an evaluation to determine what previous credits will transfer toward the current degree program at STLCC. This process will also determine if the student is eligible for financial aid or scholarships.

  • Coursework that is listed as In Progress will not be evaluated and STLCC will require that a complete transcript be sent once grades are posted.
     
  • If a student has attended multiple colleges or universities, an evaluation will not occur until all official transcripts have been received.
    • If you would like to check that your transcripts have been received, please check your application checklist by logging into Self-Service and clicking “Student Services & Financial Aid” and then choosing “View Application Checklist”. 
    • If you have a “Transcript Not For Evaluation” on your checklist, there is no need to submit that transcript.
       
  • Once all transcripts are received, an evaluation will take place within 30 days.
  • Students receiving financial must have all of their transcripts receiving by STLCC by the following priority deadlines:
    • December 1 for Spring Term
    • May 1 for Summer Term
    • August 1 for Fall Term

Appeal Information
A transfer student may invoke the transfer appeals process to challenge an institutional decision on the acceptance of credit(s) from regionally accredited colleges or universities. If you have questions, contact the St. Louis Community College Registrar's Office for more information.

Students planning to transfer credits to another college or university should request that their STLCC transcript be sent. Course transferability is determined by the accepting institution.

To report a problem with the transfer policy

Missouri's Coordinating Board for Higher Education has approved a Credit Transfer Policy that stipulates guidelines for student transfer and articulation among Missouri colleges and universities.

All public institutions have agreed to abide by the principles contained within the policy. Any transfer student who believes there has been unfair treatment involving acceptance of college credits may contact the college's articulation officer at the address and phone number below:
