Accelerated Job Training

Workforce and Community Development is one of the St. Louis leaders in developing the skilled workforce that powers our community’s economic growth. Short term training programs, often referred to as accelerated, are developed by our division when training is needed to fill jobs in demand. Accelerated means "just in time" training for in demand jobs.

Home Energy Auditor Training (H.E.A.T.)

This coursework prepares you for the nationally recognized Building Performance Institute certification-BPI Building Analyst.

Information Technology Help Desk Technician

Computer support is in demand! This accelerated job training program prepares individuals for entry level Information Technologist positions.

Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS) in Microsoft Word 2007

Learn all the skills necessary to be proficient in Word 2007 and prepare for the Microsoft Certification Exam 77-601 to become a Microsoft Certified Application Specialist.

Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS) in Microsoft Excel 2007

Learn all the skills necessary to be proficient in Excel 2007 and prepare for the Microsoft Certification Exam 77-602 to become a Microsoft Certified Application Specialist.

Industrial Maintenance Training (IMT)

This accelerated blended learning program covers Basic & Intermediate Pneumatics, Basic & Intermediate Hydraulics, Electrical Motor Controls 1, Mechanical Drives 1, and Intro to PLCs. Graduates of IMT will be able to maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot equipment most commonly used in high-tech manufacturing facilities.

AmerenUE Pre-apprentice Training Program

This program is designed to train line workers for possible lineman employment with AmerenUE.

Boeing Pre-Employment Training Project

This program creates a pool of employee candidates for positions as sheet metal assembler-riveters (SMARS) with Boeing.

Business Office Application Training (BOAT) Program

The Business Office Application Training program is a 10-week certificate program offering students the practical skills necessary to compete in today's business offices. The hands-on and small class size (9-15) is ideal for individuals re-entering the workforce, dislocated workers, adult, career changers and those seeking to upgrade their skills. The professional instructional staff ensures that you leave with a strong foundation in written and verbal communication, proficiency in Microsoft Office, the fundamentals of business office procedures, customer service and personal career planning. The successful completion of BOAT also provides an opportunity to receive core Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification in Microsoft Word and Excel and 9 credit hours from St. Louis Community College.
