Accelerated Job Training

The Workforce Solutions Group develops industry-specific training in partnership with the college’s campuses and local employers to help adults retrain for in-demand occupations in shorter duration formats. This is a comprehensive list of the variety of accelerated job training programs that have been developed by the Workforce Solutions Group. Program offerings are based on demand and the availability of funding or industry partner participation.

ACE Personal Trainer Certification

Become a certified personal trainer! Designed to provide the knowledge and understanding necessary to prepare for the ACE Personal Trainer Certification Exam and become an effective personal trainer, this course presents the ACE Integrated Fitness Training (ACE IFT®) Model as a comprehensive system for designing individualized programs based on each client’s unique health, fitness, and goals.

Avionics (Aviation Electronics)

Enrolling now for October 5, 2016 class.
An accelerated 9-week practical, hands-on, non-credit course. Avionics is the field that involves the assembly, installation and maintenance of electronic systems on all types of aircraft, artificial satellites, and spacecraft. Classes will be offered at St. Louis Community College's Florissant Valley Campus. This is an nine-week daytime (8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) class. Training is free to those who qualify.

Aviation Maintenance Technology

Registration for this program is closed for the 2016-2017 school year.
Prepare for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant certifications. Students learn how to maintain and repair many types of aircraft, from small aircraft with reciprocating engines to large transport planes with turbine engines. Classes will be offered at the Gateway STEM High School aviation maintenance facility meeting Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. on the St. Louis Public School schedule.

Business Office Administrative Training (BOAT)

The next class group starts in January 2017.
The BOAT Program is an accelerated, 10-week professional certificate program offering diverse adult-learners the practical skills necessary to compete in today’s global workforce. Training is free to those who qualify.

Boeing Assembly Mechanic Pre-Employment

Now accepting resumes for Sept. 22, Oct. 13 and Nov. 7, 2016 daytime classes, and Sept. 19 and Nov. 1 evening classes.
Five-week, 208 hour daytime employer specific program of instruction in aircraft assembly techniques for Assembly Mechanic positions within Boeing. Evening class is six weeks and includes some Saturdays. Skills and Qualifications: Must be mechanically inclined and pass all required prescreening tests. Training is free to those who qualify.

Boeing Composites Mechanic Pre-Employment

Now accepting resumes for Oct. 10, 2016 class.
208-hour employer specific program of instruction in aircraft assembly techniques focused on advanced composite fabrication, assembly and repair, and teamwork for Composites Mechanic positions within Boeing. Skills and Qualifications: Must be mechanically inclined/history of hands on fine detailed work and pass all required prescreening tests. Training is free to those who qualify.

Central Sterile Processing Technician

This two-tiered program offers the student a direct pathway to success in Central Sterile Processing. Whether starting a career in Central Sterile Processing or already working in the field, this program builds a foundation in central service workflow and concerns, basic job knowledge and skills, and basic job responsibilities.

Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)

A Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) provides patient-focused services in a skilled nursing facility or nursing home. After completing the MoSTEMWINs Portal program, participants are ready to pursue this program, which combines six weeks of intensive classroom instruction with three weeks of clinical practice. The hours for classroom instruction are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The clinical instruction, held in St. Louis-area nursing homes, is from 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Class A (CDL-A) Commercial Truck Driving Program

Now enrolling for classes starting Oct. 10 and Nov. 14, 2016.
The Truck Driving program is a five-week program which prepares the graduate to enter the commercial driving industry as an over-the-road truck driver. Students will rotate through a combination of classroom, driving simulator time, and 45 hours of driving. Training is free to those who qualify.

Class B (CDL-B) Truck Driving Program

Two-week CDL-B classes start in November 2016.
The Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL-B) truck driving program is a two-week program which prepares the graduate to safely operate heavy trucks with air-brakes. Students will rotate through a combination of classroom training and maneuvers on a driving range, including 15 hours of driving experience using large trucks with manual transmissions. Tuition costs $1,555 and is WIOA eligible.

Community Health Worker Training

Enrolling now for a class starting in March 2017.
Learn to conduct outreach for medical personnel or health organizations as a Community Health Worker. Prepare to implement programs in the community that promote, maintain and improve individual and community health. The Community Health Worker non-credit training program combines classroom instruction with service learning in the community. The program includes 108 classroom hours and 60 service learning hours. Students must be available during daytime hours on Mondays and Wednesdays for the classroom instruction and at other times as needed to complete service learning hours. Training is free to those who qualify.

Customer Service Institute

Now enrolling for class starting soon.
CSI is specifically designed to address employers’ growing need for employees with great customer service skills, professionalism and exceptional work ethics. CSI answers this call by preparing individuals with training and certifications necessary to thrive. Training is free to those who qualify.

Environmental Remediation Technician

Next class starts Spring 2017. Apply now to start the interview, drug testing and class registration process.
This six-week program helps residents take advantage of the jobs created by the assessment, cleanup, and redevelopment of environmentally impacted properties and structures in the St. Louis Metro region, as well as other environmental remediation sites. The program provides you the opportunity to obtain Missouri and Illinois Licenses and Nationally Recognized Certifications. Training is free to those who qualify.

Logistics, Warehouse & Distribution Specialist

Enrolling now for class starting January 17, 2017.
This five-week training program helps students take advantage of jobs in the supply chain logistics industry, or more specifically, jobs in warehousing, quality control, product receiving and shipping, transportation planning, and inventory control. Students will work on team projects related to this industry. Field trips provide opportunities for students to observe and participate at local distribution centers. Training is free to those who qualify.

Medical Assistant Training

Now enrolling for class starting in January 2017.
Train to perform administrative and basic clinical tasks in a clinical setting. Take advantage of this training opportunity and prepare to earn your Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification. The Medical Assistant non-credit training program combines 25 weeks of intensive classroom with clinical instruction. Classes and the clinical experiences are held Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Training is free to those who qualify.

Nurse Assistant for Nursing Homes

10 week hands-on intensive training program for those interested in entry level positions as a certified Nurse Assistant.

Patient Care Technician

Now enrolling for class starting January 2017.
Patient Care Technicians provide patient-focused services in a hospital setting. This non-credit training program requires a full-time commitment of nine weeks from the participants. It combines six weeks of intensive classroom instruction with three weeks of clinical practice. The hours for classroom instruction are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The clinical instruction, held in St. Louis-area hospitals, is held three days a week from 6:45 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. Training is free to those who qualify.

Pharmacy Technician Certification

This training prepares the student for entry level employment as a pharmacy technician. Students will learn about the top medications dispensed in the United States and be introduced to the basic concepts of pharmacy calculations for proper medication dispensing.

Phlebotomy

Enrolling now for class starting Fall 2016.
This noncredit program prepares the student for entry level employment as a phlebotomist. The course provides classroom, lab instruction and clinical experience. Class meets two times a week for eleven weeks; each class session is three hours in length. The 120 hours of clinical experience is in addition to scheduled class time. Strict attendance policy enforced throughout this training.

Solar Training - NABCEP Certified Solar Courses

Enrolling now for classes starting Fall 2016.
STLCC offers North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) approved solar training courses from beginner to advanced levels.

Truck Driving (CDL-A) Training Program
