Sycamore

Sycamore is an annual publication of poetry, prose and art by the students of St. Louis Community College at Wildwood. The collection is named after the mighty sycamore tree, a literary symbol often used in the ancient writings of the Bible, in Native American stories and in great American literature such as Tom Sawyer. The sycamore tree is a visual reminder in the locale of Wildwood of nature’s unique majesty, its pale bark standing in relief to the dark wood of the trees around it. Like the sycamore tree, our journal contributors inspire us by revealing eternal truths about the nature of life and love.

Submissions to Sycamore are accepted throughout the year. The deadline for the spring 2012 edition of Sycamore is Dec. 31, 2011. For further information, please contact Layla Goushey, Chair of English, Reading and Interdisciplinary Studies at sycamore@stlcc.edu.
