Syed Chowdhury, Anatomy & Physiology

Dr. Chowdhury joined STLCC-Wildwood in 2009. He has also taught at Washington University, Dalhousie and Mount Saint Vincent University in Canada and the University of Science and Technology in Bangladesh. He holds a master’s degree in Science from Dhaka University in Bangladesh, a Ph.D. in Neurophysiology from Gifu University School of Medicine in Japan, and completed post doctoral fellowships in the Department of Biology at Washington University and the Centre for Neurobiology of Learning and Memory at the University of California, Irvine.

In addition to teaching, Dr. Chowdhury is also a research scientist. His focus is neuroscience and the higher cognitive functions related to neuroplasticity and sensory perceptions of the brain. He has held research positions in the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology at Washington University School of Medicine and Dalhousie University School of Medicine in Halifax, Canada. He has published many articles and presented at various conferences throughout the world.
