TRIO at Forest Park

Student Support Services is one of the federally funded TRiO programs designed to improve the retention and graduation rate of college students who are first generation and/or with limited income.

SSS students benefit from their use of a variety of program resources and individual interactions with a highly dedicated program staff.

Program personnel strive to get to know student members well enough to suggest special opportunities based on individual abilities and needs.

REQUIREMENTS

Students at St. Louis Community College are eligible for SSS program services if they are planning to graduate/transfer, are a U.S. citizen or registered permanent resident, taking 12 credits or more and meet one or more of the following criteria:

  1. Low income (most students receiving PELL grants meet this criteria)
  2. First generation (no parent living in the childhood home graduated from a four-year college or university)
  3. Documented disability - if you are unsure about eligibility, come in and talk with one of our staff.
