Child Care Center
The St. Louis Community College operates a licensed child care center on its Florissant Valley campus. Initially, the center was established solely to provide affordable and convenient child care services for STLCC students with families who needed part-time, short-term child care while they were in class. The center now also cares for the children of faculty and staff as well as children from the community at-large.
The child care center subscribes to the project construct philosophy of education -- the theoretical view that children learn through interaction with their physical and social environments. Thus, STLCC-FV’s child care center continually strives to provide the children with "hands on, minds on" experiences to foster their intellectual, social and personal development.
