Child Care Centers
The St. Louis Community College operates licensed child care centers on its Florissant Valley, Forest Park and Meramec campuses. Initially, the centers were established solely to provide affordable and convenient child care services for STLCC students with families who needed part-time, short-term child care while they were in class. The Florissant Valley and Forest Park centers now also care for the children of faculty and staff as well as children from the community at-large.
Each child care center subscribes to the project construct philosophy of education -- the theoretical view that children learn through interaction with their physical and social environments. Thus, STLCC’s child care centers continually strive to provide the children with "hands on, minds on" experiences to foster their intellectual, social and personal development.
