Associate in Applied Science in Sales is a 64-credit-hour program that prepares students for sales positions in organizations that market industrial, technical and consumer goods and services. Sales trainees are responsible for servicing existing customers, creating and making sales presentations, closing sales, performing post-sale service and acting as field market research resources for customer needs.
Certificate of Specialization in Sales is an 18-credit-hour program designed for persons who want to receive some fundamental knowledge in sales, business and communications. This program is for persons just entering the field and for individuals who are already in the field but would like additional education about the industry.
The coursework teaches students to apply practical sales techniques in a range of situations, act as intermediaries between customers and suppliers, and comprehend the complex interrelationships between the salesperson and the other components of business.
Sales trainees are important in any field. Graduates of the Sales program are qualified for positions as sales trainees for small- and medium-sized manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers. Sales trainees are responsible for servicing existing customers, creating and making sales presentations, closing sales, performing post-sale service and acting as field market research resources for customer needs.
