Occupational Therapy Assistant is a college-level program. To be admitted, applicants must demonstrate through placement test scores or coursework that they are academically prepared to enroll in ENG:101-College Level Composition and MTH:140-Intermediate Algebra.
Admission to the OTA program is on a first-come, first-served basis for those students who meet the minimum academic and other requirements. Placement on the waiting list for review by the Review and Retention Committee occurs when an applicant completes all requirements for admission and submits the OTA/PTA Program Request form. (Effective 6/1/95)
These requirements include high school or college cumulative grade point averages, minimum placement test scores or successful completion of specific courses, successful completion of the prerequisite for Anatomy and Physiology I, and completion of the OTA Observation Form.
Please refer to the OTA Requirements Checklist available in the Admissions and Advising offices as a guide to completing the admission process for placement on the waiting list.
