Life Science Laboratory Assistant
The certificate of specialization in Life Science Laboratory Assistant is a 16-credit-hour program to prepare students for entry-level positions in life science research, development and production. Students learn current methods and techniques used in life science and biotechnology laboratories.
In addition, this short-term program, designed to be delivered in two semesters, acts as a bridge into the Biotechnology Associate in Applied Science Degree program and other Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programs.
The certificate is taught as part of a learning community and will include additional language and math classes for science. Students are expected to attend classes from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday for the entire year. The program also includes tutoring and job seeking skills.
Information on how to pay for college can be found at stlcc.edu/collegecost. Financial aid and scholarships may be available to qualifying students.
