Patricia Rooney

Dr. Rooney has been a faculty member with St. Louis Community College since 2000, teaching Art Appreciation at both the Meramec and Wildwood campuses, and History of Western Art, History of Modern Art and Humanities at Meramec. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Missouri with a minor in Art History. In 2001 she completed her Master of Arts degree at Webster University. She most recently received her Doctorate degree from St. Louis University with a concentration in American Studies and Visual Culture. Dr. Rooney serves as a board member and on the Visual Arts Committee of the Kirkwood Area Arts Council, and as Co-Curator of the “Arts at the Station” program at Kirkwood Train Station. She is also a committee member and annual Symposium Co-Coordinator of the Visual Arts Consortium of Greater St. Louis. In spring 2010 she will be presenting her paper “Constructing an American National identity: Analyzing the Form and Content of the 2004 National World War II Memorial, Washington DC” at the International organization of American Historians Conference.
