Writing Intensive Information

A writing intensive course should help students, who have completed ENG:101, continue to develop significant writing skills. Students should write frequently in these classes, both formally and informally. Thus, students will fulfill at least the following competencies:

• Complete writing assignments which have a clear purpose and defined audience
• Complete assignments which demonstrate their understanding of the associated discipline.
• Complete an assignment requiring the use of statistical models, quantitative data or graphical elements.
• Complete assignments using the writing process and in consultation with their instructor--multiple drafts, peer and instructor editing prior to final draft.
• Complete at least eight [total] pages of graded written work.
