Fine Arts at Wildwood

Wildwood’s Art Department is a place to find your creative spirit as well as develop skills to effectively express your creative side. A diverse student body made up of all ages and ethnic groups, the Wildwood campus provides an engaging environment both in developing essential skills for advancement in the creative arts as well as an understanding of cultural and ethnic richness necessary in succeeding in today’s global creative market. The Art Department Faculty are practicing artists that provide instruction to assist students in succeeding in their learning process. Through the experiences of these gifted artists/teachers students receive skill building instruction, advisement of career possibilities and methods of developing students to be creative individuals in their career choices. Art classrooms are located on the third floor of the award winning Wildwood campus known for its pleasant environment and light filled atmosphere.

The Wildwood Art Department offers many choices in course work opportunities that best accommodate our students’ choices in the creative arts.

  • Associate degree leading to job placement (Associate in Applied Science)
  • Associate degrees leading to transfer to four-year institutions (Associate in Fine Arts)
  • Individual courses to provide specific skill building techniques
  • Opportunities for personal enrichment
  • Cooperative programs with area high schools.

To ensure transferability of credits, the art department has formal articulation agreements with the University of Missouri - St. Louis and the Kansas City Art Institute.  These programs facilitate transfer and broaden scholarship opportunities for our graduates.
