Associate in Fine Arts
The Associate in Fine Arts degree (AFA) is a transfer degree providing freshman and sophomore course work for students planning to continue their education beyond the associate degree.
An Associate in Fine Arts/Bachelor of Fine Arts partnership with the University of Missouri-St. Louis exists for students who plan to transfer to UM-St. Louis to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Other transfer agreements exist with the Kansas City Art Institute (for General Fine Arts, Photography, and Graphic Communications majors) and the Savannah College of Art and Design (for the following concentrations: Painting, Sculpture, Printmaking, and Photography). An agreement with the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (for General Fine Arts and Photography majors) will be initiated soon. In recent years, AFA students from across the STLCC district have successfully transferred to many of the most prestigious art schools around the country.
