Associate of Arts in Teaching

Teaching is one of the most rewarding professions. The chance to take part in the education of future generations of children and to have a career in which you can make a significant difference in the lives of your students are two of the major reasons many people are drawn to this career.

For students who are interested in teaching as a career, and for those who want to acquire a strong foundation of educational concepts and skills before transferring to a four-year college program, St. Louis Community College has developed an Associate of Arts degree in Teaching. The courses in this program meet teacher certification requirements, are approved by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, and are fully transferable to many Missouri four-year colleges.
