Associate in Arts Degree (General Transfer Studies)

AA Degree (FV, FP, M, W and Online)

St. Louis Community College offers an Associate in Arts degree for students who intend to complete Bachelor’s degrees at another college or university.

St. Louis Community College’s Associate in Arts degree requires 42 credit hours of general education courses. Students who complete the 42-credit hour block of general education courses will have “Missouri General Education Requirement completed” noted on their transcripts. Students who complete this block will have satisfied all general education at many Missouri public and private colleges and universities.

In addition to the 42 credit hours of general education and two credit hours of physical education, students will select 20 credit hours to complete the 64-credit hour Associate in Arts degree. Students should work closely with a counselor or advisor to select courses that are transferable to a degree program at the transfer institution.

For students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in specific academic fields, students may tailor their course of study by selecting from hundreds of courses for their elective credits. Recommended academic plans for a number of disciplines are provided below. Students are encouraged to meet with an academic advisor to carefully select elective courses that will transfer to a four-year university.
