Construction Management Technology

Associate in Applied Science Degree (FV)

Associate in Applied Science Degree in Construction Management Technology is a 67-72-credit-hour program for individuals desiring work as technicians in the construction industry. Students acquire theoretical and practical skills in construction phases that may include planning, estimating, building systems, engineering, sustainable construction methods and construction management. The program is designed to emphasize problem solving and critical thinking.

Graduates are qualified for positions in the areas of inspection, work scheduling, estimating, material ordering, equipment sales, field management, and construction planning and layout.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics, applicants seeking positions as a technician are expected to have the best opportunities if they posses an associate degree in the field. The overall employment rate is expected to increase at an average rate through 2014.
