Career and Technical Education
Career and Technical Education programs at St. Louis Community College are designed to prepare you for a high-skill, high-wage, high-demand career in the real world. Labor market data indicates that 65 percent of jobs in today’s work force are classified as "skilled and technical." Jobs in this classification require training beyond high school but do not necessarily require a four-year degree. Choosing Career and Technical Education at STLCC means you can be on your way to a new career -- or a better position in your current field -- in two years or less.
Our CTE programs combine educational opportunities with preparing for a career. The classroom experience provides you with skills that enable you to walk out of the classroom and into the work force. Our CTE programs also build critical thinking and communication skills valued by employers. CTE students learn those skills while they participate in hands-on technical training on state-of-the-art equipment from instructors who are professionals in their field. With more than 100 programs to choose from, STLCC has something for everyone -- no matter what your interests.
Whether you are just leaving high school and beginning to explore your career goals or if you are an adult looking to upgrade your skills or make a career change, we invite you to explore Career and Technical Education at STLCC and discover the pathway to your future.
