Accelerated Learning Program

The ALP was developed based on learning community theory to provide dynamic interdisciplinary experiences for both students and faculty. The objective of the adult learning experience is to relate what is learned in the classroom directly to one’s professional and personal life.

The program consists of nine learning modules that are eight weeks in length. Students and faculty meet once per week on Tuesday evenings. In addition, students engage in learning activities outside the classroom that combine traditional learning methods, distance learning technology, collaboration with peers, and study in the community. Within two years, an Associate in Arts degree in General Transfer Studies can be earned.
