Art at the Station Rolls in to STLCC-Meramec

September 01, 2016

The Kirkwood Arts Commission’s Art at the Station will make a temporary stop at the St. Louis Community College-Meramec Library.

Renovation plans at the Kirkwood Train Station forced Art at the Station—which provides a venue for local artists to display their work—to find a new home for the 2016-2017 season. They found a willing co-host and supporter of the arts in STLCC-Meramec.

The exhibition space at the Meramec Library is larger than the Train Station space and will allow for expanded exhibits and for more artists to showcase their work. It also gives STLCC-Meramec students the opportunity to experience St. Louis art, right in their own backyard.

The first exhibit, “Photography by Women in Focus,” opens tonight and features images from Women in Focus St. Louis, an organization of women photographers who have joined together to support and promote the photographic arts. The opening reception is 5:30-7 p.m. in the library.

Art at the Station at STLCC-Meramec is free and open to the public.
