Whether you need to shred a box of documents or responsibly dispose of unwanted electronics, you can easily do it all when the City of Wildwood and St. Louis Community College-Wildwood partner to host the city’s annual Shredding and Electronics Recycling Event on Saturday, May 7.

The event runs 8 a.m.-noon at STLCC-Wildwood, 2645 Generations Drive.

More than 750 cars attended the event in 2015, of which 80,000 pounds of excess electronics and 24,000 pounds of paper waste were collected and disposed of in a responsible and safe manner. The event is open to both residents and nonresidents.

One change that will take place this year is the city will charge a fee for dropping off more than one TV. Participants won’t be charged a fee for dropping off only one TV, regardless of size, but fees for subsequent TVs will range from $20-$50 depending on size. This change was necessary due to a lack in grant funding to subsidize recycling TVs.

For more details, including information on what can and cannot be collected, see pages 8-9 in the Wildwood Gazette.
