The Missouri Coordinating Board for Higher Education (CBHE) has approved the appointment of Rodney Gee to the St. Louis Community College Board of Trustees. Gee’s term will be for six years beginning April 5.

Section 178.820.6 RSMo 2015 directs the CBHE to appoint the seventh trustee of the St. Louis Community College District. The appointed trustee receives the same rights as other members of the Board of Trustees.

Representatives of the coordinating board noted that Gee "reflects the qualities and characteristics described in the (appointment) policy as critical for success as a trustee of St. Louis Community College." They further noted confidence in Gee to "tender rich contributions to the college, its students and the greater community it serves."

Gee is a retired partner from Edward Jones Inc., where he worked in human resources for 14 years. He also held administrative positions in sales, marketing, strategy and human resources with Monsanto, Motorola and Southwestern Bell.

Gee has an extensive record of community service. He is the immediate past-president of the St. Louis Community College Foundation, where he has served as a board member for the past 13 years. He also serves as a board member of RX Outreach, an organization providing discount drugs to individuals and families with low incomes, and is a board member with Covenant House of Missouri.

A resident of Chesterfield, Gee holds a master’s degree in human resources development from Webster University. His bachelor’s degree in business administration is from the University of Central Missouri.
