STLCC-Wildwood Hosts Florissant Valley Symphony Orchestra

February 09, 2016

Florissant Valley Orchestra

The Florissant Valley Symphony Orchestra will perform a special concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, at St. Louis Community College-Wildwood, 2645 Generations Drive.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The orchestra will honor and remember military men and women by performing a selection of patriotic favorites - from John Philip Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever March,” to Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Selections from the South Pacific,” Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Egmont Overture,” and more.

While the concert is free, donations support the St. Louis Warrior Support Foundation.

The Florissant Valley Symphony Orchestra is led by Ivy Allen, music director and conductor, and Paul Higdon, guest conductor. It features the talents of students, community members and professional musicians from across the area.

The Florissant Valley Symphony Orchestra was established at St. Louis Community College-Florissant Valley in 1971. The orchestra frequently collaborates with the St. Charles Community College Orchestra and performs at both campuses.
