Eight faculty will show their artwork in St. Louis Community College-Wildwood’s faculty art exhibition, which opens Nov. 23 and runs through Jan. 22, 2016.

Artists featured in the show include: Joseph Angert, Terrell Carter, James Davania, Sean Frye, Mark Oakley, Mark Weber, Matt Weber and Ken Worley.

Outside of the classroom, each faculty member is an active artist. What they teach in the classroom comes from years of practice and research.

According to Mark Weber, professor of art and department chair, the faculty art exhibition aims to inspire an appreciation of the arts.

“In the words of Maya Angelou, ‘You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.’  The same can be said of the artists featured in this exhibition,” Weber said.  “Every faculty member who teaches art at STLCC is a producing artist.  While we chose many different media and directions to visualize this, our work is evidence of the artistic journey.”

STLCC-Wildwood’s Gallery of Contemporary Art is located on the campus’ third floor, 2645 Generations Drive.  Gallery hours are 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
