This month, Jenna Mueller moves into a full-time faculty position at St. Louis Community College, serving as the counselor at Wildwood.

In this role, she will provide counseling support to students as well teach the general education capstone (GEN:200), science and value of happiness (IDS:115) and career exploration (PRD:102) courses.

Mueller joined STLCC in 2008.  Since then, she has served as an adjunct faculty member and part-time counselor at Florissant Valley, Meramec and Wildwood.

“This is my dream job. I love working with people from varied backgrounds, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to teach people about happiness,” Mueller said. “College is a wonderful time in students’ lives, and I look forward to helping them navigate the transition.”

Mueller, who took courses at the college’s Forest Park campus, earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education (English) from Webster University and a master’s degree in counseling from Saint Louis University. Mueller is a licensed professional counselor for the state of Missouri and a national board certified counselor.

Outside of STLCC, she runs a private practice, specializing in relationship issues and self-esteem.

“I use empathy and humor as a vehicle to gain insight and facilitate self-empowerment,” Mueller said.

When she’s not working, she enjoys reading crime novels, traveling, watching reality TV and playing golf.

Her office is located in Room 105 in Student Services. Mueller encourages students to stop by or contact her at jmueller258@stlcc.edu to make an appointment.
