David Braverman, Ph.D.

David Braverman, PhD  

David Braverman is completing a presidential fellowship at Black Hills State University. He previously served as interim dean of students for the Community College of Philadelphia.

Braverman served as vice president for student affairs and dean of students at Springfield College in Massachusetts. As the senior campus officer for student life and learning outside the classroom, he served on the president’s executive staff and oversaw student life, including student activities and campus union, support services, and residential life. He was also responsible for crisis intervention, student conduct, student health, counseling, campus spiritual life, drug and alcohol education, campus recreation, multicultural center, volunteer services, new student orientation, veteran’s services, family programs, and career services.

Braverman has held a number of administrative positions across the country. He served as the dean of students at Texas A&M University-Kingsville; associate vice president for student affairs at California State University-Sacramento; dean of students at Culver-Stockton College; assistant dean for Richmond College at the University of Richmond; and assistant director of residence life at Cornell College.

Braverman earned his doctorate and master’s degrees from the University of Iowa in student development in postsecondary education, higher education administration, and counseling. His bachelor’s degree in biological sciences is from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
