Langrehr Named STLCC Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs

Andrew Langrehr, vice president for academic affairs at St. Louis Community College-Meramec, has been appointed vice chancellor for academic affairs, beginning July 1.

Langrehr joined STLCC as a full-time chemistry instructor more than 13 years ago.  He served as both the chair for Physical and Engineering Sciences department and the academic dean for the Science and Technology division prior to his appointment as vice president. 

Langrehr was a full-time chemistry instructor at Jefferson College (Hillsboro, Mo.) before coming to St. Louis Community College. He began his community college career as an adjunct chemistry instructor at Kirkwood Community College (Cedar Rapids, Iowa.).  

Langrehr earned his doctorate in education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. His dissertation investigated the persistence of adult students at two-year colleges. Langrehr earned his master’s degree in chemistry from the University of Iowa, and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Central College (Pella, Iowa.).
