Chris Hendricks, a second-year radiologic technology student at St. Louis Community College, has been awarded the Barb Thorpe Student of the Year Award by Saint Louis University Hospital.

“Chris started his clinical training year the same way some newly appointed technologists start their initial orientation, performing routine radiographic exams. Soon with assurance, he was accomplishing fluoroscopic studies with success and without much help,” said Marsha Forrest, assistant director of imaging at Saint Louis University Hospital. “He excels at producing consistently good quality images and was not afraid of tackling some tasks that registered technologists would consider difficult and very challenging.”

The Barb Thorpe Student of the Year Award was named in honor of Thorpe, a long-time radiology technologist who worked at the hospital for nearly 50 years in a variety of roles. This award represents the finest qualities of a radiology technologist.
