STLCC-Meramec Student Wins National Technical Honor Society Scholarship

St. Louis Community College-Meramec student Nawarat Jirasophin has won the National Technical Honor Society Jon H. Poteat Scholarship worth $1,000.

Jirasophin graduated this spring with a 4.0 grade-point average, earning a Certificate of Specialization in Computer Accounting Technology. She will return to STLCC to complete her associate degree in accounting.

According to the National Technical Honor Society website, the Jon H. Poteat scholarship is awarded to NTHS members who consistently exemplify the seven character attributes of the NTHS: Skill, Honesty, Service, Responsibility, Scholarship, Citizenship and Leadership. As of 2014, the NTHS serves more than 80,000 members.

This year, 175 scholarships were awarded nationwide.
