Beginning this fall, credit students at St. Louis Community College will be able to get on board MetroBus and MetroLink via a special transportation pass program.

Students who are enrolled for at least one credit hour will have unlimited use of MetroBus and MetroLink with U-PASS. STLCC is partnering with the Bi-State Development Agency to provide this service, effective the first day of the fall 2015 semester.

“We are happy we could find an affordable way to break down barriers to an education through the U-PASS public transportation program,” said Dennis Michaelis, STLCC’s interim chancellor.

The cost of the U-PASS will be covered by the college activity fee assessed to each student enrolled for credit-bearing classes.  There is no extra charge for the pass.

STLCC faculty and staff also may obtain the U-PASS by registering for at least one credit hour.

Students may obtain the U-PASS beginning Monday, Aug. 24, at the Cashier’s offices on campus.

Students may obtain the U-PASS on the first day of classes at the Cashier’s offices on campus. They must show a valid student identification card to get the pass. Only one pass will be issued to a student per semester; there is no replacement for a lost pass, and passes may not be shared.

Students also must show a valid STLCC student ID card each time they ride using the pass; without the ID, students must pay for the full fare. Improper use could result in fines from municipalities, criminal prosecution and/or college disciplinary action.
