STLCC-Forest Park to Host Town Hall Meeting on College Access and Success

St. Louis Community College-Forest Park will serve as host for a town hall meeting focusing on the Obama Administration’s dedication to college access and success on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 1-2 p.m. in the Mildred E. Bastian Center for the Performing Arts, 5600 Oakland Ave.


The event, which is free and open to the public, will begin with a presentation by James T. Minor, Ph.D., deputy assistant secretary for higher education programs in the Office of Postsecondary Education. Minor’s presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session.


Prior to his role with the Department of Education, Minor held many other significant positions in higher education, including serving as a fellow at the University of Georgia’s Institute of Higher Education, and as a research associate at the Pullias Center for Higher Education at the University of Southern California. Minor holds a bachelor’s degree from Jackson State University, and master’s degree from the University of Nebraska. His doctorate is from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.


The town hall is sponsored by the Council for Opportunity in Education and the Missouri-Kansas-Nebraska chapter of the Mid America Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel.
