Florissant Valley Hosts High School Art Exhibition

A variety of artistic expression will be displayed at the 18th annual Florissant Valley High School Art Exhibition Jan. 20-Feb. 19 in the Contemporary Art Gallery on campus, 3400 Pershall Road.

A closing reception and Art department open house will take place 6-8 p.m. on Feb. 19.

Participating high schools include Trinity Catholic, Francis Howell, Fort Zumwalt East, Hazelwood West, Hazelwood Central, Logos, Lutheran North, McCluer North, Pattonville, Parkway Central, Parkway North, Riverview Gardens, Ritenour and Windsor.

Each school has selected one or two pieces from the work of up to three juniors or seniors. The exhibition is a trove of drawings, paintings, illustrations, printmaking, photography, collages, sculptures, ceramics and figures. The exhibition annually attracts more than 30 budding artists and hundreds of spectators.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
