The Gallery of Contemporary Art at St. Louis Community College-Forest Park presents its latest exhibition “Dialogue with Nature: Landscape Painting and Drawing Invitational” beginning Thursday, Jan. 22 with an opening reception from 4-6:30 p.m.

Dialogue with NatureThe exhibition runs through Feb. 26 and is free and open to the public. The Gallery of Contemporary Art is located in the library complex on the Forest Park campus, 5600 Oakland Ave. The gallery is open 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

“The natural landscape has remained a popular subject for artists since the Impressionism movement at the end of 19th century. Contemporary artists use the landscape as an avenue to express their aesthetic ideology,” said Yingxue Zuo, director of the Gallery of Contemporary Art. “Dialogue with Nature” is a unique exhibition; featuring eight outstanding local artists presenting 24 fantastic paintings and drawings, each with his/her own personal style. The audience will appreciate how this group of artists approaches a visual dialogue with the surrounding natural world.”

The exhibition features the work of artists Dan Gualdoni, Nancy Newman Rice, Mark Weber, Mary Sprague, Ken Worley, Ahzad Bogosian, James Smith and Jeffrey Vaughn. Bogosian and Worley serve as adjunct faculty in the fine arts department of St. Louis Community College.
