Make your “travel” plans to attend the “It’s a Small World After All” Trivia Night to raise funds for student study abroad scholarships. The event will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, in the Student Center Cafeteria at St. Louis Community College-Forest Park, 5600 Oakland Ave.

The event is being sponsored by the STLCC-Global Education Committee to give needs-based students the opportunity to study abroad by providing scholarships.

“All proceeds will go directly toward specialized scholarship accounts designated to assist exemplary, financially-strapped students fulfill their dreams of studying abroad,” said Daniel Yezbick, global education coordinator and professor of English at STLCC-Forest Park. “Many of our best students come from compromised financial circumstances, and without these scholarships, they would be not be able to experience the life-changing revelations that come from exposure to other countries, cultures and languages.”

The trivia event will include 10 rounds of questions. The cost is $20 per person and teams can have up to eight players. Mulligans will be available for an additional cost. The first-place team will win a cash prize and the second-place team will receive free admission to next year’s event. Chris Sulincevski, STLCC’s international program coordinator and local soccer player, will emcee the festivities.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. Soda and bottled water will be available for sale. Alcohol is not permitted on school property. Participants may bring snacks as well as table decorations to the event.
