Early registration paid off for St. Louis Community College student Bushra Khamees, the winner of an Apple iPad in the STLCC Earl E. Bird Registration and Payment contest.

The Earl E. Bird campaign helps current students achieve their educational goals by encouraging early registration during priority registration dates and making early payment or payment arrangements. The priority registration dates enable current students to register first so they can get the classes they need to complete their degree. STLCC offers three ways to pay for classes: paying in full, financial aid and an installment payment plan.

“I like to be organized. Early registration and payment really helped, as I was able to manage my classes and financial aid for fall ahead of time,” said Bushra, who attends classes at the Meramec campus, “It’s nice to feel prepared, to be registered ahead of time and taking classes that fit my life and schedule.”

This is the first year for the campaign, which saw a 35% increase in online degree audits and a 21% increase in the number of current students who enrolled during priority registration based on 2013 totals.
