Fitzgerald Named Vice President of Student Affairs at STLCC-Meramec
April 30, 2014
Kim Fitzgerald has been appointed vice president of student affairs at St. Louis Community College-Meramec. Fitzgerald has served in the same position on an interim basis since August 2013.
Fitzgerald will oversee Admissions, Assessment, Advising, Registration, Counseling, Access, TRiO, Career and Employment Services, Service Learning, the Student Assistant program, and Campus Life and Conduct.
“I appreciate the opportunity to serve the college in a leadership role as we go about redesigning the student experience in our programs and services,” said Fitzgerald. “I would hope I represent a historical perspective, an understanding of institutional strengths and challenges, and a positive attitude about changes we can make that will benefit not only our students, but also our institution.”
In 1987, Fitzgerald started working at the college as an academic advisor at Meramec. In 2008, she became the coordinator of enrollment management at Meramec, and was a part of the Innovation of the Year award-winning team for the New Student Enrollment Orientation Project.
“Kim has done an excellent job of providing leadership to the student affairs area both at a campus level and a collegewide level,” said Pam McIntyre, Meramec president. “She will be able to help the student affairs staff on the Meramec campus work through the changes that the college will be implementing to enhance the student’s experience.”
Fitzgerald holds a bachelor’s degree in speech communications with a specialization in public relations from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and a master’s degree in higher education and adult learning from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
