STLCC to Host Career Exploration Sessions

April 17, 2014

Captioning program
STLCC is hosting a number of career exploration sessions in the coming month to help you discover where your interests lay and help you choose a career from more than 100 programs, such as information reporting technology (court reporting) and captioning.

Whether you’re just starting out, looking to re-enter the workforce or wanting to switch careers – but you’re not sure about an area of study – St. Louis Community College has the answer.

STLCC is hosting Career Exploration Sessions that are designed to help you identify your interests, discover your passion and point you toward the career that’s right for you. The sessions will be conducted 6-7:30 p.m. at the Florissant Valley, Forest Park, Meramec and Wildwood campuses.

The next sessions will be May 6 and 7. The May 6 session will be in Room 202/204 in the Training Center at Florissant Valley, 3400 Pershall Road. The May 7 event will be in Room 105 of the Business Administration building at Meramec, 11333 Big Bend Road.

Participants will:

  • Discover how your interests can lead to good career decisions.
  • Learn how your interests relate to STLCC career programs.
  • Use Career Coach to get labor market information.
  • Hear about resources to pay for school.
  • Find out how to get started at STLCC.

Those who register for the event will receive a link to a free interest inventory that will help identify your primary interest areas and link them to jobs and industries where those interests apply. A career counselor will explain the results of your interest inventory at the event.
