Author Kelsey Timmerman discusses his latest book, “Where Am I Eating? An Adventure through the Global Food Economy,” Wednesday, April 23, at St. Louis Community College-Meramec.

The discussion is from 7-9 p.m. and takes place in the theater on campus, 11333 Big Bend Road. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Seating is general admission on a first-come basis.

Timmermann will discuss topics from his latest book, including global trade, human rights, food safety, fair trade, climate change, rural poverty and biodiversity. Kelsey’s poignant, troubling and sometimes wacky travel adventures around the world to discover where his favorite foods are grown and harvested will give individuals a new perspective on what is in their grocery carts.

Timmerman has spoken at more than 70 colleges, universities and high schools across the United States, empowering people to “think globally and act locally.”

Timmerman will be signing books after the discussion. “Where Am I Eating?” currently is on sale in the Meramec Bookstore and will be available for purchase the night of the event.
