Laws concerning gun concealed carry and medical marijuana usage went into effect in Illinois in January. These laws have implications for small businesses and non-profit organizations.

Attorney Todd Sivia, founder and attorney-at-law at Sivia Business & Legal Services, P.C., will conduct a workshop at St. Louis Community College-Meramec beginning at noon on March 31 in Room 105 in the Business Administration building on campus, 11333 Big Bend Road.

Business owners and non-profit executives should examine and adopt policies and procedures to address these new laws, specifically how they affect employees, volunteers, customers and insurance coverage. The presentation will cover key components of both acts, including requirements of compliance, how these laws apply to employees living in Illinois and strategies employers can use to protect their businesses, employees and clients.

The workshop is free and open to the public. For more information, call 314-984-7290.
