Paul Zaloom, star of the Emmy Award-winning children’s science television show “Beakman’s World,” will reprise his role as the eccentric scientist Beakman in a live stage show, “Beakman on the Brain,” March 6 at St. Louis Community College-Meramec.

This free performance is open to the public and slated for 6:30 p.m. in the theater on campus, 11333 Big Bend Road.

“Beakman on the Brain” features a series of perception-defying and belief-suspending demonstrations of intriguing scientific principles with a healthy dose of audience participation and trademark Beakman goofy humor. “Beakman on the Brain” is a family-friendly experience for all ages, especially appropriate for grades 2-8.

Zaloom is an Obie-winning performance artist, puppeteer, actor and filmmaker who has performed on 12 tours to Europe and 42 states, including Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, the Walker Arts Center, UCLA Performing Arts Series and King Tut’s Wah-Wah Hut. He has received four National Endowment for the Arts grants, four Citations of Excellence in the Art of Puppetry from Union Internationale de la Marionnette-USA, and a Guggenheim Fellowship for his work.

“Beakman’s World” aired 91 episodes from 1992-97, showing children that science is cool in an entertaining way.

Seating is general admission on a first-come basis. For more information, call Tony Frost at 314-984-7422.
